Fear

If you do not take action(s) because of fear-fear of failure or whatever fear it may be, your dreams will remain realities in the invisible world– Sam Adeyemi

Have you ever wondered what’s behind that little voice in your head that tells you, “you’re in this all by yourself, one person doesn’t make a difference, so why even try? You’re going to remain poor for the rest of your life just like your parents (if they are poor), that you can’t be successful, that you don’t have what it takes to start and succeed in that business idea that had been tugging your heart since you were a child, and that your life has no meaning so why not be like the rest? The list is endless. I’m sure you can identify with some of the list of lies mentioned above that have crippled and still crippling a lot of people in life who are supposed to racing towards their dreams but never manage to rise from the wheelchair of mediocrity, that have killed and still killing the inherent talent and God given abilities in most people, that have made champions to settle for average, and have made first team players become spectators in life.

It name is fear. Fear plays the role of antagonist in the story of our life. We must rid ourselves of it using all necessary means.

We’re often impressed by those who appear to be fearless. The people-, who fly to the moon, Chase tornadoes, enter dangerous war zones, Skydive, Speak in front of thousands of people, who become successful despite the odds that were against them, those who venture into something (dreams) that seems bigger than them.

So, why are we so inspired by them?

Because deep down, we are them. We all share the same characteristics. We’re all divinely human.

Let me ask you this question before you proceed, “What is that fear you ‘think’ you have that is eating you up?” – While not pause for a while and take a trip into your inner self to check the authenticity of your fear. Researches have made us understand that 85% of our fears never come to pass. If that is the case, the fear you have right now isn’t necessary. Why? You may ask; because it isn’t going to happen!

Our Mind is like a Garden

Don’t allow your emotions to control you because we are emotional beings. You have to discipline your emotions. If you don’t discipline and contain your emotions, they would use you.

Our minds go on automatic just like a garden. You know, I love reading the book called “as a man thinketh” by James Allen. He uses the analogy of the mind being like a garden. Weeds don’t have to have any encouragement to grow; you don’t have to water them, they don’t have to get sunshine, they don’t have to get rain fall. They would grow through the crack of a side wall. But if you want to grow something of value in your garden e.g. roses, there are special process and procedures you must go through.

By the same token, you don’t have to force yourself or motivate yourself to think negatively, to be depress, to hate somebody, to want revenge and want to get back at somebody, to beat yourself up over the head, to feel loaded with guilt, you don’t have to make any effort to do that because your mind is on automatic- it will do that by itself. But if you do want to move into your own personal greatness, if you really want to enjoy a happy, successful and healthy life, you’ve got to be willing to go against the tide, you’ve got to be willing to harness your will and say; in spite of this, I’m in control here, I’m not going to let this get me down, I’m not going to let this destroy me and I’m coming back stronger and better.

You’ve got to be a person who make declaration that this is what you stand for; you are standing up for your dreams, for peace of mind, you are standing up for health. You want it and you are going to go all out to have it. It isn’t going to be easy when you want to change. In fact it isn’t easy because if it were everybody would go all out to do it but if you are serious you would do it.

Self-Discipline

I have never met a person who is successful that didn’t have a great amount of self –discipline in their life.

Self-discipline and being able to perform and being able to keep your life on schedule and being able to keep commitments and promises and dead-lines is essential to success.

Noon of us can afford to have a life that is controlled by someone else or a life that is basically controlled by our emotions. I learned many years ago that there are 2 kinds of people; the one that says, I want to wait till I feel like it before I do it and there is the second type that says; I want to do it before I feel like it.

One will never get anything done because he is waiting to feel the moment to move before he does anything. While the other one says; wait a minute! No, I need to move before I feel the moment.

Self-discipline is essential in your life and in my life if we are going to get things done.

So I have a challenge for you reading this and it is very simple and here is the challenge; as you go through this week, sometimes it is hopefully the easiest time of your week, ask yourself; am I practicing self-discipline in my life? Am I doing the things I must do because I need to do them or am I kind of waiting to feel the moment?

Do like my friend Nike says; just do it!

Find Your Purpose

I think first of all, success is knowing your purpose in life.

As I have watched and observed successful people what I have discovered about them is; they really have figured it out why they are here. They really do have their act together and knowing their purpose in life is a stability for them so whenever everyone else is rocking and rolling and things are not really steady and people are kind of abandoning their course, these people hold steady right throughout the storm because they truly are focused and it becomes an anchor in their life which holds them steady. And the anchor is a confidence based upon a knowledge of purpose.

Someone said that there are 2 great days in a person’s life; the day they are born and the day they discover why.

I’m here to tell you that highly successful people have really discovered their purpose-the “why” of their life.
